A catalogue, not a catalogue shop
Calm Finds is written and edited by a small desk of home-goods editors. We started it because buying a rug or a curtain almost never comes down to how it looks in a photograph — it comes down to four or five numbers that nobody puts in a readable place: pile height, back width, face yarn, fullness, declared GSM.
Those numbers are printed on a spec sheet. They are usually in the spec sheet. They are almost never in the product photography, and they are frequently absent from the first three search results. So we built the site around reading them.
We do not run a testing laboratory. When we give a number, it comes from one of three places and we say which: a manufacturer spec sheet, a published care or technical document, or an independent lab measurement that we can link to. Where a figure is the manufacturer's own claim rather than our measurement, we write it as the manufacturer's claim.
We do not publish coupon roundups, price alerts, or a deals section. There is no deal board on this site and there will not be one. Some pages carry affiliate links, and those pages say so in the same screen as the link itself.

What we cover
Four edits: the floor (rugs and floor coverings), the window (curtains and window treatments), the sofa (throws and cushions), and a method section for working out sizes and materials before spending anything. We do not review furniture, lighting, or bedding — those are separate topics with separate numbers.
Every entry states its measurement basis and where the figure came from. When a spec is vague or a claim cannot be traced, we say so instead of filling the gap.
Corrections
If a number on this site is wrong, we want to fix it. Write to mail@calmfinds.com with the URL and what the correct value should be. Published dates and updated dates are both recorded on every entry, and a change to a substantive figure advances the updated date.
